Cantares y sones de ciegu n'Asturies

FA.CD. 8787¡Ea, señores usías!

Under this title, formula to attract the attention from the last lines of a published in 1755, we offer a selection of music compiled in Asturias joined by the character of its performer: the blind. There are “romances” about murders, humoristic ones, about monsters and extraordinary facts; satiric and picaresque couplets; political tunes and dances for feasts and gardens. All of the tracks have a simple and appropriated instrumentation, depending on the cases: violin, drums, triangle… and the hurdy-gurdy, played by Fonsu Fernández, the one who compiled the works and who is the director of the Gaita’s Museum in Gijón.
