FONOASTUR is a record company established in 1987 with certain objectives: defence, promotion and diffusion of Asturian music.

Consequently, throughout these years we have been editing recordings of multiple musical genders, but- most of all- traditional and folk music, helping the development and strengthening of a creative generation of musicians who are happily building the new Asturian musical tradition day by day. Looking for this, we have tried to put the techniques required to guarantee a quality sound at your disposal, and designing an aesthetic outlook which- respecting each artist’s personality- joined clearly our productions and the land they come from. Finally, Asturian – there are a few exceptions- has been the main language in our editions. It couldn’t have been in any other way, as FonoAstur keeps its compromise with Asturias and its cultural roots. That is the reason why we have recently joined the expression “La música del país”(music from this country) to our image.

Having edited over a hundred titles, now, and having sold out our first relation of discs some years ago, the high demand of a general and actualised catalogue, has lead us to deliver this new edition, in which you will find the CD’s and cassettes that are being distributed now. As extra information, we enclose a list at the end with LP and limited stock’s references which are not at people’s disposal yet. We expect that the catalogue will be useful for you.
